Get ready, Death Stranding enthusiasts - something big is brewing. With the highly anticipated sequel Death Stranding 2: On The Beach launching in June, series star Norman Reedus recently gave IGN some intriguing hints about the game and dropped a bombshell about the upcoming film adaptation.
A Game-to-Screen Possibility
"Would I play myself if given the chance? Absolutely," Reedus responded when questioned about potentially reprising his role for the cinematic adaptation, recently announced as a collaboration between Michael Sarnoski and A24. He tempered expectations, though, noting: "Everything's still in the super early stages right now. But yes, without question."
From Confusion to Clarity
When asked about his initial bewilderment with the first game's narrative, Reedus revealed how his perspective has changed. With complete faith in visionary creator Hideo Kojima's genius ("Let's be real - nobody truly gets how Kojima's mind works"), the actor noted significant improvements in storytelling clarity for the sequel.
"This time around, I actually understood what was happening plot-wise," Reedus shared enthusiastically. "There's way more action sequences, and the objectives feel much more concrete and purposeful."
The Kojima Experience
Regardless of the surreal nature of Death Stranding's universe, Reedus remains thoroughly engaged. "Working on these projects is always an absolute trip," he told IGN with visible excitement. "Incredibly rewarding, but completely unpredictable in the best way possible."
Mark your calendars: Death Stranding 2: On The Beach makes its long-awaited debut on June 26, 2025.
