Animal Crossing: Pocket Camp is shutting down! Nintendo's popular mobile game will end online services on November 28th, 2024. This announcement has surprised many players.
The Shutdown Date:
Online features for Animal Crossing: Pocket Camp will cease on November 28th, 2024. This marks the end of Leaf Ticket acquisition and Pocket Camp Club memberships. Auto-renewal for the Pocket Camp Club stops on October 28th, with no refunds for existing memberships after that date (though a commemorative badge will be awarded). Your final chance to purchase Leaf Tickets is November 26th. The online community will officially close at 7:00 AM PST on November 28th.
A Silver Lining: Offline Play!
While online services are ending, Nintendo plans to release a paid offline version of the game. This version will lack online features like the Market Box, gifting, and visiting friends' campsites. However, your saved progress will be preserved, allowing continued gameplay without an internet connection. More details on this paid offline version are expected around October 2024.
Nintendo's Mobile Game Strategy:
This shutdown follows a trend of Nintendo phasing out mobile games. Dr. Mario World and Dragalia Lost have already been shut down, and Mario Kart Tour is currently in maintenance mode. Therefore, the closure of Animal Crossing: Pocket Camp isn't entirely unexpected.
