While *DOOM: The Dark Ages* was arguably the main eye candy of Developer_Direct for gamers, it was not the only big topic. During the broadcast, Koei Tecmo announced *Ninja Gaiden 4*, the sequel to their popular series, slated for release in the fall of 2025.
The debut trailer showcases an action-packed slasher featuring the iconic ninja Ryu Hayabusa. *Ninja Gaiden 4* introduces innovative mechanics, including the ability to quickly traverse using wires and rails, as demonstrated in the gameplay trailer. The game's setting is a cyberpunk city enveloped in a continuous toxic rain, where players will battle hordes of modified soldiers and terrifying otherworldly creatures to lift an ancient curse from the megacity.
In addition to *Ninja Gaiden 4*, the presentation highlighted a massive remaster of *Ninja Gaiden 2*. This remaster has already been released on PC, PS5, and Xbox Series X|S and is available in the Game Pass catalog. Team Ninja has utilized Unreal Engine 5 (UE5) for this remaster, completely reworking character models, visual effects, and landscapes. They've also integrated elements from newer entries in the series, introducing three additional playable characters.
Koei Tecmo's efforts have not gone unnoticed, and they rightfully deserve the current attention and excitement from the gaming community.
