Hotta Studios' upcoming open-world RPG, Neverness to Everness, is gearing up for its first closed beta test. Unfortunately, this initial test will be exclusive to mainland China.
Gematsu recently highlighted new lore details for the game, which, judging by the Eibon city trailers (see below), shouldn't come as a complete surprise. The updates focus on a more comedic narrative and the intriguing blend of the bizarre and ordinary within the game's Hetherau setting.
Hotta Studios, a subsidiary of Perfect World (creators of the popular Tower of Fantasy), is venturing into the increasingly urban-focused 3D RPG landscape. Neverness to Everness aims to stand out with unique features.
One standout feature is open-world driving. Players can cruise the city streets at high speeds in customizable vehicles, although realistic crash physics add a layer of challenge.
The game faces significant competition upon release. Titles like MiHoYo's Zenless Zone Zero and NetEase's Ananta (formerly Project Mugen) have already set a high bar in the mobile 3D open-world RPG genre.
