Monster Hunter Wilds is gearing up for a second Open Beta, offering a fresh chance for newcomers and returning players to experience the thrill of the hunt! This extended beta period includes exciting new features and content. Learn how to participate below!
New Monster, New Challenges
Missed the first Monster Hunter Wilds Open Beta? Fear not! A second Open Beta Test is scheduled for the first two weeks of February. Following the success of the initial beta, this second phase provides another opportunity to test the game before its official launch on February 28th. Producer Ryozo Tsujimoto announced this exciting news via a video on the official Monster Hunter YouTube channel.
The Open Beta will run in two sessions: February 6th-9th and February 13th-16th. Available on PC, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X|S, this beta includes additional content not featured in the first test, including the formidable Gypceros, a familiar foe from previous Monster Hunter titles.
Character data from the previous beta is transferable to this one and, subsequently, to the full game upon release. However, game progress will not carry over. Participating beta testers receive exclusive in-game rewards: a decorative Stuffed Felyne Teddy for your weapon or Seikret, plus a special bonus item pack to aid early-game progress.
"We understand many missed the first beta or wanted a second chance," Tsujimoto explained. "The team is diligently working on finalizing the full game." While a pre-launch community update video detailed planned improvements, these will not be included in this beta phase as they're still under development.
Monster Hunter Wilds launches on PC, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X|S on February 28th, 2025. Get ready for the hunt!
