Lego has unveiled a series of exciting new Minecraft Movie sets launching ahead of the Jack Black-led live-action film, offering a sneak peek at the mobs we can expect to see on the big screen.
Games Radar reports that the Woodland Mansion Fighting Ring and The Ghast Balloon Village Attack are the two sets announced so far. These will complement the existing range of standard Minecraft Lego sets, but will include minifigures of key characters like Jack Black's Steve and Jason Momoa's The Garbage Man.
The Woodland Mansion Fighting Ring ($49.99, 491 pieces) hints at a gladiator-style battle sequence in the movie. The set depicts Momoa's character facing off against a zombie riding a giant chicken. Whether this is to scale, or a baby zombie on a regular chicken, remains unclear, but the chicken-zombie combo is notably taller than The Garbage Man himself.
The Ghast Balloon Village Attack set ($69.99, 555 pieces) confirms the appearance of the Nether's marshmallow-like Ghast villain. This set depicts a large-scale battle within a typical overworld village. The set includes one villager minifigure, two piglins, Steve, Natalie, Dawn, and an iron golem.
Both sets will be available on March 1st, a month before A Minecraft Movie hits theaters on April 4th.
However, the director and producer, speaking to IGN in November, acknowledged this reaction and confidently stated they were "ready for everything."
