Microsoft has unveiled the Xbox Game Pass January 2025 Wave 2 lineup, brimming with exciting new titles. This announcement, preceding Microsoft's Xbox Developer Direct on January 23rd, offers a sneak peek at several day-one Game Pass additions, including Doom: The Dark Ages, South of Midnight, Clair Obscur: Expedition 33, and a yet-to-be-revealed fourth game.
The January 2025 Wave 2 kicks off on January 21st with the day-one release of Lonely Mountains: Snow Riders (Cloud, PC, and Xbox Series X|S) on Game Pass Ultimate and PC Game Pass. Master the mountain in this snowy sequel to Lonely Mountains: Downhill, featuring up to eight-player cross-platform multiplayer. Race to the bottom or collaborate, sharing limited checkpoints—the choice is yours!
January 22nd brings a flurry of additions. Flock (Console) joins Game Pass Standard, offering multiplayer co-op fun collecting adorable flying creatures. Gigantic: Rampage Edition (Cloud, Console, and PC) arrives on Game Pass Ultimate, PC Game Pass, and Game Pass Standard, delivering a dynamic 5v5 MOBA hero shooter experience.
Also on January 22nd, Game Pass Standard welcomes Kunitsu-Gami: Path of the Goddess (Console), a unique Japanese-inspired single-player action strategy game; Magical Delicacy (Console); Tchia (Xbox Series X|S); and The Case of the Golden Idol (Console). Starbound (Cloud and Console) expands its Game Pass presence, joining Game Pass Ultimate and Standard after its PC Game Pass launch.
January 28th sees the day-one arrival of Eternal Strands (Cloud, Console, and PC) on Game Pass Ultimate and PC Game Pass. This fantasy title from Yellow Brick Games, a studio comprised of veterans from franchises like Dragon Age, Mass Effect, Watch Dogs, and Assassin's Creed, promises epic creature battles and a blend of magic and weaponry. Also launching on January 28th is Orcs Must Die! Deathtrap (Cloud, PC, and Xbox Series X|S), a third-person shooter and trap defense game offering action-packed fun for up to four players.
On January 29th, Shady Part of Me (Cloud, Console, and PC) joins Game Pass Ultimate, PC Game Pass, and Game Pass Standard, taking players on an emotional journey through surreal dreamscapes. A day-one release on January 30th, Sniper Elite: Resistance (Cloud, Console, and PC) brings the award-winning sniping mechanics to Game Pass Ultimate and PC Game Pass, allowing players to experience the campaign in co-op.
Citizen Sleeper 2: Starward Vector (Cloud, PC, and Xbox Series X|S) arrives as another day-one Game Pass Ultimate and PC Game Pass release on January 31st, continuing the story of its acclaimed predecessor. Finally, Far Cry New Dawn (Cloud, Console, and PC) joins Game Pass Ultimate, PC Game Pass, and Game Pass Standard on February 4th, setting players in a post-apocalyptic Hope County, Montana.
