Here's the official synopsis:
Christopher Nolan’s next film ‘The Odyssey’ is a mythic action epic shot across the world using brand new IMAX film technology. The film brings Homer’s foundational saga to IMAX film screens for the first time and opens in theaters everywhere on July 17, 2026.
"The Odyssey" narrates the epic journey of Odysseus, the king of Ithaca, as he embarks on a ten-year voyage to return home following the Trojan War. While Universal has kept additional details about Nolan's adaptation under wraps, early reports suggest an impressive ensemble cast is set to join Matt Damon.
Matt Damon was the first actor linked to the project, marking his return to Universal after starring in "Oppenheimer," which clinched seven Academy Awards, including Best Picture and Best Director. Rumors indicate that he may be joined by a stellar lineup including Charlize Theron, Tom Holland, Zendaya, Anne Hathaway, Lupita Nyong'o, and Robert Pattinson.
