Mastering Monster Capture in Monster Hunter Wilds

Slaying monsters is a thrill, but if you're aiming to collect all their parts in *Monster Hunter Wilds*, you'll need to master the art of capturing them. Here's a comprehensive guide to help you become a pro at monster capturing.

Capturing Monsters in Monster Hunter Wilds

Capturing monsters in *Monster Hunter Wilds* is a straightforward process, designed to reward strategic gameplay. To capture a monster, you need to weaken it first. Your trusty Palico will alert you when the monster is vulnerable, but you can also spot other signs like a skull icon appearing over the monster's icon on your minimap, or the monster itself showing signs of weakness such as limping or drooling, indicating low HP.

Once the monster is sufficiently weakened, it's time to set your trap. Choose between a Shock Trap or a Pitfall Trap and strategically place it on the ground. Lure the monster into the trap, and once it's ensnared, you'll have a brief window to act. Quickly throw one or two Tranq Bombs at the trapped monster to successfully capture it. Alternatively, depending on your weapon and playstyle, you can use Tranq Ammo or Tranq Blades crafted from Tranq Bombs.

Upon successfully capturing a monster, your quest will conclude, and you'll be transported back to Base Camp with your spoils.

How to Get Traps and Tranq Items

While your Palico might occasionally lay traps for you, it's wise to come prepared with your own. There are two types of traps at your disposal: Pitfall Traps and Shock Traps. To craft a Pitfall Trap, you'll need a Trap Tool combined with either Spiderwebs or Ivy. For a Shock Trap, you'll require a Trap Tool and a Thunderbug Capacitor.

To obtain Tranq items, craft Tranq Bombs using a Sleep Herb and a Parashroom. These bombs can then be combined with Throwing Knives to create Tranq Blades or with Normal Ammo to produce Tranq Ammo, catering to different weapon preferences and combat styles.

That's the lowdown on capturing monsters in *Monster Hunter Wilds*. For more in-depth tips and tricks, be sure to check out The Escapist for all your gaming needs.
