Stun the Monster
Ebony Odogaron's speed can be overwhelming, often leaving players scrambling to dodge its relentless attacks. To counter this, utilize stunning techniques. Look for a Flashfly in the area, which you can trigger to momentarily stun the beast. Alternatively, craft Flash Pods to shoot at Ebony Odogaron, giving you a window to attack without fear of immediate retaliation.
Bring Teammates
Facing Ebony Odogaron solo can be daunting, as you'll spend more time dodging than attacking. The best strategy is to bring teammates into the fray. Use SOS signals to call for help; if no other players join, NPCs can serve as effective distractions. Let them draw the monster's attention while you focus on evasion and strategic strikes.
Pull Down Entangled Rocks
During the battle, you'll encounter an area with Entangled Rocks overhead. Use your slinger to bring them down, stunning Ebony Odogaron for a few precious seconds. Remember, this tactic is a one-time opportunity per fight. Additionally, deploy Pitfall and Shock Traps to immobilize the monster twice more, allowing you to attack safely.
Beware of Dragonblight
Ebony Odogaron can inflict Dragonblight, which hampers your ability to deal elemental or status effect damage. To counteract this, carry Nulberries to cleanse the effect or equip decorations with Level 3 Dragon Resistance or Blight Resistance to mitigate its impact.
Inflict Paralysis
Paralysis is a game-changer in this fight. When inflicted on Ebony Odogaron, it immobilizes the monster, providing ample time to deal damage. If you can knock it down near roots, the monster may become further entangled, extending your attack window.
Aim for the Head
The head is Ebony Odogaron's most vulnerable spot, boasting a 3-star weakness. While targeting it maximizes damage, it also puts you directly in harm's way. For a safer approach, aim for the forelegs and tail. Although less effective, breaking these parts can still benefit your hunt.

Capturing Ebony Odogaron requires careful planning. Deploy a Pitfall or Shock Trap once the monster's health drops to 20 percent or below. Timing is crucial; if the monster isn't sufficiently weakened, the tranquilizer won't take effect, and it will break free, forcing you to continue the fight.
