Marvel Rivals Season 1: Eternal Night Falls – New Characters, Maps, and Game Mode Unveiled
Marvel Rivals Season 1, "Eternal Night Falls," is set to launch January 10th at 1 AM PST, bringing with it a host of exciting new content. The three-month season will feature Mister Fantastic (Duelist) and The Invisible Woman (Strategist) as playable characters, with The Thing and Human Torch joining the roster six to seven weeks later. The Baxter Building will also feature prominently in a new map.
This first season includes a revamped battle pass offering 10 new skins, with a reward of 600 Lattice and 600 Units upon completion (costing 990 Lattice). A thrilling new game mode, "Doom Match," will debut, pitting 8-12 players against each other in a free-for-all across maps like the newly revealed Empire of the Eternal Night: Sanctum Sanctorum. The top 50% of players will claim victory.
Three new maps are on the horizon:
- Empire of the Eternal Night: Sanctum Sanctorum (for Doom Match)
- Empire of the Eternal Night: Midtown (for convoy missions)
- Empire of the Eternal Night: Central Park (launching in six to seven weeks)
The developers emphasized their commitment to community feedback, acknowledging concerns about character balance (specifically ranged characters like Hawkeye) and promising adjustments in the first half of Season 1. The team also hinted at future PvE content, though no official announcements were made. The anticipation for Season 1 is high among fans.
