Marvel Rivals Season 1: A New York City Nightscape of Maps
Marvel Rivals' first season continues to expand with exciting new content. Beyond the Fantastic Four additions, several new maps themed around a nocturnal New York City are being introduced. Here's a breakdown of each:
Table of Contents
- Empire of Eternal Night: Midtown
- Empire of Eternal Night: The Mystical Sanctum Santorum
- Empire of Eternal Night: Central Park
Empire of Eternal Night: Midtown
Launched at the start of Season 1, Midtown is a Convoy map designed for the game's payload mode. Players either escort or defend a moving vehicle across the map. This is the third Convoy map in Rivals, joining Yggsgard: Yggdrasill Path and Tokyo 2099: Spider-Islands.
Midtown depicts a nighttime New York City under Dracula's Blood Moon. Points of Interest include iconic Marvel locations and real-world Midtown Manhattan landmarks:
- Baxter Building
- Grand Central Terminal
- Stark/Avengers Tower
- Fisk Tower
- Ardmore's Bookstore
- Timely Trend
Empire of Eternal Night: The Mystical Sanctum Santorum
This unique rendition of Doctor Strange's Sanctum Santorum is the only map currently featuring Doom Match, a free-for-all deathmatch. Top-performing players earn wins, with the best player receiving MVP.
The map beautifully recreates Doctor Strange's home and headquarters, first appearing in a 1963 comic and famously featured in the MCU. The Rivals version includes hidden secrets, supernatural rooms, portals, and an infinite staircase. Players can even interact with Bats the Ghost Dog.
Empire of Eternal Night: Central Park
Expected later in Season 1, this map is set in a stylized version of Manhattan's Central Park, focusing on Belvedere Castle, a prominent Gothic structure. This location, situated at a high point in the park, provides an ideal setting for the Empire of Eternal Night theme, potentially serving as Dracula's New York City hideout.
These are all the new maps currently planned for Marvel Rivals Season 1.
