Marvel Rivals has delivered a phenomenal hero-shooter experience, rich in diverse gameplay among its numerous characters and stunning visuals. As the game progresses through its lifecycle, new characters will continue to be added. Season 1 introduces iconic heroes from the Fantastic Four franchise, including Mister Fantastic.
Among Marvel Rivals' many characters, Mister Fantastic stands out as a dualist character. This means he needs to be agile and contribute significantly to the team’s damage output. His primary method of mobility is to grab and pull himself towards either allies or enemies. Each new duelist's release can shake up the meta, and it's exciting to see how they will perform across the game’s various maps.

Mister Fantastic’s Primary Attack in Marvel Rivals
Great duelists in Marvel Rivals need a robust primary attack. Mister Fantastic’s primary attack, Stretch Punch, is surprisingly versatile despite lacking a secondary attack. This attack consists of a three-strike combo: the first two strikes use a single fist, while the final strike uses both hands.
The versatility of this attack lies in its ability to deal damage even when the stretched arm is dragged through its target. It can hit multiple enemies, enabling area-of-effect attacks. This feature is similar to Storm’s piercing Wind Blade attack, which also often hits multiple enemies.
Mister Fantastic’s Abilities in Marvel Rivals
Mister Fantastic boasts numerous abilities that players should test in the training room. Each ability contributes to building a passive that increases his damage output. When fully charged, this passive becomes a formidable asset. Besides these abilities, players should be aware of key stats like his health and Elasticity.
Mister Fantastic has a base health of 350, but he uses shields to enhance his survivability, making him more durable than typical duelists. Elasticity, visible under the player's crosshair, is crucial. His base attacks generate 5 Elasticity each, and players should aim to reach 100 as quickly as possible.
With a difficulty rating of 3 stars, Mister Fantastic is not the easiest character for beginners but is manageable for players to master.
Reflexive Rubber
- Active Ability
- 12 seconds
When activated, Mister Fantastic stretches into a rectangular shape, absorbing all incoming damage. Upon ending, he launches the stored damage as an attack where the player’s reticle is aimed.
Flexible Elongation
- Active Ability
- 3 seconds
- 30 Elasticity Generated
Upon activation, Mister Fantastic gains a shield, boosting his health from 350 to 425. He pulls himself towards a target, dealing damage to enemies or granting a shield to allies. This ability has two charges, allowing for strategic use before its cooldown or when nearing a full passive.
Distended Grip
- Active Ability
- 6 seconds
- 30 Elasticity Generated
Distended Grip is another versatile ability. Mister Fantastic stretches to grab a target, offering three options: Dash, which pulls him towards the target without a shield, and Impact, which pulls the enemy towards him, dealing additional damage. If another enemy is nearby, he can grapple and slam them together, damaging both.
Wedded Harmony
- Team-Up Ability
- 20 seconds
This ability is available only when Invisible Woman is on the team. It heals Mister Fantastic for any lost health without granting shields, enhancing his survivability between shield uses. Invisible Woman, a Strategist, synergizes well with Fantastic Four members.
Elastic Strength
- Passive Ability
Each ability use builds Elasticity, increasing damage output. When maxed out, Mister Fantastic undergoes a Hulk-style transformation, boosting his attack damage and granting a significant shield. This shield decays over time, but remains after the transformation ends. While inflated, he cannot use other abilities, encouraging players to maximize damage output.
Brainiac Bounce
- Ultimate Ability
Mister Fantastic leaps into the air and crashes down, dealing damage within a marked area. He then bounces to repeat this process, devastating grouped enemies. This ultimate is straightforward and effective, especially against clustered defenses.
Tips for Playing Mister Fantastic in Marvel Rivals
Despite being a duelist, Mister Fantastic can be incredibly tanky due to his damage mitigation and easy access to shields, further enhanced by his passive.
Flexible Reflection
A powerful combo involves using Flexible Elongation followed by Reflexive Rubber. This sequence provides shields for both the player and an ally, allowing Mister Fantastic to absorb enemy damage before releasing it, potentially overwhelming inexperienced opponents.
Rushing Reflexive Rubber
While Reflexive Rubber is key to building Elastic Strength, it can also be used independently to increase time in his inflated state, enhancing both his presence on objectives and damage output. Combining this with two instances of Flexible Elongation can boost his health to 950, making him one of the game's most durable characters.
