Don't Nod, the French studio behind the acclaimed Life is Strange series, has released the first chapter of their new narrative adventure. Players can now experience "Tape 1," with "Tape 2" launching free for all owners on April 15th.
Initially unveiled in 2023, the game unravels the mystery surrounding a close group of friends whose lives were irrevocably shattered during the summer of 1995. Twenty-seven years later, the echoes of that summer return, unleashing unforeseen and chilling consequences.
Blending nostalgic charm with the suspense of a psychological thriller, the game draws inspiration from iconic works like It, Yellowjackets, and I Know What You Did Last Summer. The narrative is cleverly divided into two parts: "Bloom" and "Rage." Currently, only "Bloom," the first half of this haunting tale, is available (as of February 18th).
"The Tape," the second part, originally scheduled for March, has been pushed back to April 15th to allow for further refinement and polishing.
The review embargo has lifted, revealing a solid 74/100 average critic score on OpenCritic, promising a compelling start to this gripping mystery.
