In Limbus Company, the levels of your Sinners significantly impact their combat effectiveness. Just like in other RPGs, leveling up your team is crucial for progressing through the game and tackling challenging content. Even the most powerful Sinner Identities won't stand a chance against enemies if they're underleveled. For newcomers, here's a concise guide on the best ways to earn XP for your characters.
As we look forward to games like Ananta and Neverness To Everness, the desire for a stylish anime game without gacha mechanics is palpable. While HoYoVerse games satisfy the gacha itch, a triple-A experience akin to these titles, free from RNG monetization, would be a welcome addition to the gaming scene.
Combat and Grinding --------------------For new players, combat is the primary source of XP. All Sinners on your team earn XP after successfully completing a battle, though those who actively participate gain more than those who sit on the sidelines. However, as with many free-to-play gacha games, this method can be time-consuming, and as battles grow tougher, you'll need more efficient ways to level up.
Upon reaching the midpoint of Canto 2, you'll unlock Luxcavation mode, allowing you to challenge specific enemies for various rewards. While the fights themselves provide a decent amount of XP, the real value comes from the consumable items you can obtain, which are essential for leveling up.
Using Consumable Items
If grinding manually isn't your style, you can use Level Boost Tickets and Identity Training Tickets to level up your Sinners' Identities. These consumables are designed specifically for character progression and come in different rarities.
Identity Training Tickets
Identity Training Tickets provide a flat amount of XP to an Identity, serving as the equivalent of level-up materials found in other gacha games like Honkai Star Rail or Genshin Impact. They're excellent for reducing the XP grind, but you'll need a substantial number to fully level a character. These tickets are available in four tiers, each offering progressively more XP:
- Identity Training Ticket I: 50 Identity XP
- Identity Training Ticket II: 200 Identity XP
- Identity Training Ticket III: 1000 Identity XP
- Identity Training Ticket IV: 3000 Identity XP
You can acquire these tickets by farming the EXP Luxcavation stages, as well as through the free and paid Limbus Passes and periodic attendance check events.
Level Boost Tickets
Level Boost Tickets are highly valuable as they instantly elevate your Sinners' Identities to a specific level, bypassing the need for XP. Due to their effectiveness, they are rarer and harder to come by. They're mainly available through the Limbus Pass and occasionally during attendance check events. Unlike training tickets, they cannot be farmed. The different levels that these tickets can boost your characters to are:
- Level Boost Ticket I: Level 10
- Level Boost Ticket II: Level 20
- Level Boost Ticket III: Level 30
- Level Boost Ticket IV: Level 40
Currently, Identities can reach a maximum level of 50. Strategically balancing the use of Level Boost Tickets and Identity Training Tickets is key to efficiently leveling up multiple characters.
To use these consumables, navigate to the Sinners menu and long-press the portrait of the character you wish to level up.
