KEMCO has launched a new roguelite for Android, titled "Novel Rogue." It's a pixel-art fantasy JRPG centered around deck-building and strategy, filled with books, magic, and an intriguing narrative.
You step into the shoes of Wright, an apprentice to Yuisil, the Witch of Portals, within the Ancient Library. Wright gains the ability to dive into the pages of four enchanted books, each unveiling a distinct world.
One story involves aiding a princess knight in reclaiming a lost kingdom, while another leads you to unravel the secrets of the underworld. Your choices dynamically shape these narratives, ensuring a fresh experience with each playthrough.
Gameplay Overview of Novel Rogue
The game revolves around a turn-based card battle system that adapts to the book you're currently in. Each of the four worlds features its own unique deck-building mechanics. Best foes, select from three new cards after every fight, and craft your perfect deck.
A "Change" command allows you to redistribute damage among your allies. The "Novel Power" system lets you enhance your deck using ink. For a greater challenge, the "Deep Record" mode increases dungeon difficulty for more intense battles.
Throughout your journey, collect treasures to gift to characters, deepening your bonds with them. These relationships will be key to unlocking a unique ending. For customization, "Witch Stones" enable you to change character outfits to your preferred style.
Novel Rogue is free to download on the Google Play Store. A premium version is also available, offering 150 bonus Witch Stones, an ad-free experience, and additional perks.
