Get ready for the highly anticipated Nintendo Switch 2, which will come with a unique pricing strategy depending on where you are in the world. In Japan, you can grab the new console at a more affordable price compared to the global market. Dive into the details to understand the pricing variations for different versions of the Switch 2.
Switch 2 Japan Price Lower Than Global Version
Nintendo Switch 2 is set to launch with distinct pricing for Japan and the rest of the world. The console will be available in two versions: a Japanese-language system, exclusively for the Japanese market, and a Multi-Language System for global consumers. The Japanese version will be priced at approximately $330, while the Multi-Language System version will cost $449.99, showing a significant price gap of over $100. This difference is largely due to the weakened yen against the USD, making it less attractive for tourists to buy in Japan.
Even if you're living in Japan, you'll still have the option to purchase the Multi-Language System version. However, the Japanese-language system will only be available in Japan and can only be linked to Nintendo Accounts set to the Japanese region. This version will support solely the Japanese language and will only offer software from the Japanese Nintendo eShop.
For those looking to enjoy the Switch 2 in multiple languages, Nintendo recommends opting for the Multi-Language System version. More details on this version are set to be unveiled on April 4.
