Insomniac Games' Ted Price Reveals Unmade Resistance 4 Pitch
Insomniac Games founder and retiring president, Ted Price, recently revealed in an interview with Kinda Funny Games that a Resistance 4 pitch was unfortunately never approved. While the concept was lauded as "wonderful," Price cited timing and market opportunities as the reasons for its rejection.
He expressed the team's strong desire to continue the Resistance storyline, highlighting the series' unique alternate history setting and the untapped potential of the Chimera's origins and future narrative possibilities.
The Resistance series, a trilogy of first-person shooters developed by Insomniac for the PlayStation 3, depicts an alternate 1951 where aliens invade the UK. Following the completion of the Resistance trilogy, Insomniac shifted focus to other projects, including the acclaimed Marvel's Spider-Man series and new Ratchet & Clank installments.
Price's retirement announcement earlier this year marked the end of his 30-year tenure at Insomniac. Chad Dezern, Ryan Schneider, and Jen Huang have been appointed as Co-Studio Heads to succeed him. Insomniac's latest release, Marvel's Spider-Man 2, recently launched on PC, with Marvel's Wolverine slated as their next project.
