Exciting updates have emerged regarding the much-anticipated Lion King ride at Disneyland Paris, set to kick off construction in Fall 2025. As revealed by the Disney Parks Blog, this groundbreaking attraction and land themed to The Lion King will be a centerpiece of the revamped Walt Disney Studios Park, soon to be rebranded as Disney Adventure World. This new water ride promises to immerse guests in the iconic scenes from the 1994 classic, complemented by a towering 120-foot-high Pride Rock and an array of dining, shopping, and character meet-and-greet experiences.
Disney has unveiled a captivating concept image showcasing Audio-Animatronics of young Simba, Timon, and Pumbaa enjoying a feast in a lush jungle environment. This scene is just one highlight of the ride, which will also feature a thrilling 52-foot drop, slightly taller than Tiana's Bayou Adventure.
While an exact opening date remains under wraps, the ride is slated to debut following the grand opening of World of Frozen in 2026. It will contribute significantly to the expansive new vision of Disney Adventure World, which will double the current park's size.
In addition to The Lion King and World of Frozen attractions, the park will introduce the Raiponce Tangled Spin ride, featuring Mandy Moore reprising her role as Rapunzel. Another unique addition will be the first-ever attraction inspired by Up, designed as a "spinning carousel" offering panoramic views of the park's breathtaking landscapes.
The new park entrance, World Premiere, is set to open on May 15, 2025, aiming to capture the allure of a Hollywood premiere. Adjacent to this, World Premiere Plaza, inspired by Broadway and the West End, will host a variety of theatrical experiences including TOGETHER: A Pixar Musical Adventure, Mickey and the Magician, and Frozen: A Musical Invitation.
