Beloved Bethesda voice actor Wes Johnson, known for his roles in Skyrim, Fallout 3, Starfield, and numerous other titles, has shared a moving message following a near-fatal incident. Last week, he was found unconscious in his hotel room, barely alive.
A GoFundMe campaign, which has already raised an impressive $174,653 for his medical expenses and outstanding bills, features a video message from Johnson himself, revealing he was in a coma.
In the video, Johnson expresses profound gratitude for the outpouring of support: “I found out there's a lot of love in this world that I didn't know was out there, and I'm grateful to each and every one of you.” He recounts the events leading to his hospitalization, explaining that he was in Atlanta for a National Alzheimer's Foundation benefit when his absence raised concerns. His wife, Kim, contacted the hotel, leading to his discovery and emergency transport.
He humorously acknowledges the seriousness of his situation: "Rumors of my demise, well, they weren't exaggerated. It was very close, very close. But I'm still here." He credits his wife's quick thinking and the actions of his son, friends Bill Glasser and Shari Elliker, and his wife for saving his life.
Johnson extends heartfelt thanks to the National Alzheimer's Association for supporting his family, Ted Leonsis (who donated $25,000), Glasser and Elliker, and Bethesda, who publicly expressed their support. He assures Bethesda, "You say that I'm your friend. I am. Always will be. Love you guys." He concludes with a message to his fans: "I love you all. I'm not going anywhere. It's going to be a while as I work my way back, but I'm coming back. I look forward to seeing and hearing you all then. Cheers."
Johnson's extensive voice acting credits span film, television, and video games, with a significant presence in Bethesda's portfolio. His recent roles include Ron Hope in Starfield, and previously, iconic characters like Sheogorath and Lucien Lachance in Oblivion, several Daedric Princes in Morrowind, Fawkes and Maister Burke in Fallout 3, Hermaeus Mora and Emperor Titus Mede II in Skyrim, and Moe Cronin in Fallout 4.
