If you're a fan of Japanese music, you're undoubtedly familiar with HYDE, the legendary musician who has graced stages at Madison Square Garden and sold over 40 million records. Now, HYDE takes center stage in a thrilling new endless runner game, "Hyde Run," which has just launched globally.
Initially released in Japan, "Hyde Run" is now available for players worldwide. Developed and published by Phoenixx, the game offers global fans a unique way to celebrate HYDE's illustrious music career through a game packed with references to his achievements.
Move, Jump, or Slide in Hyde Run
In "Hyde Run," you embody HYDE as you navigate through a dynamic concert stage and a futuristic version of Tokyo. Engage in a high-speed chase across Neo Tokyo, dodging obstacles, wall-running past vibrant billboards, and collecting musical notes. The game's atmosphere is infused with a neon-and-noise vibe, setting it apart from typical endless runners with its guitar solo energy and HYDE-centric fan service.
As you zip through the city, you can grab various power-ups, such as magnets that attract notes or barriers that protect you from damage. Before each run, you can choose items like Note Gain to enhance note collection or a Barrier to avoid tripping over obstacles.
Collect crystals to unlock exclusive outfits and room items from HYDE's extensive career. Unlocking the Microphone Stand even grants you access to voice clips from HYDE himself.
There’s More Stuff in the Game to Do
"Hyde Run" also allows you to customize HYDE’s room with memorabilia spanning 20 years, from tour gear to more obscure references. Hidden items unlock additional messages and voice notes from HYDE, adding depth to the gaming experience.
Currently, there's a range of limited-time content available until June 10th, 2025. The THE LAST ROCKSTARS Costume Set features HYDE in his iconic look from the music video, complete with matching ROCK Furniture like leopard prints, vintage trunks, and stage spotlights. For a more relaxed vibe, the Bat Jinbei Costume Set offers a summer-festival-inspired look, while the Japanese-style furniture set includes bamboo, bonboris, and a wind chime shaped like HYDE’s Edyh character.
