The Herta isn't a new face to Honkai: Star Rail players. Many anticipated her arrival, especially given the prevalence of her puppets in team compositions since launch. Unlike some characters, The Herta maintains her 4-star counterpart's path and element, but her gameplay is significantly different. Her kit revolves around maximizing "Interpretation" stacks, gained when allies attack enemies, to dramatically boost her damage.
To maximize her potential, prioritize teams with allies frequently using AoE attacks, especially follow-up attacks, for efficient stack generation.
Her unique ability, "Message From Beyond the Veil," grants all allies 80% increased Crit DMG if another Erudition character is present. This makes her exceptionally effective in duo DPS compositions with another Erudition character. Below are some top pairing options.

Best Premium The Herta Team Composition
This team (Jade, Robin, Lingsha) is arguably The Herta's strongest starting lineup. Each ally perfectly complements her kit. Jade, her ideal Erudition partner, frequently triggers AoE attacks, synergizing beautifully with The Herta's stacking mechanic. This is especially potent when The Herta is the Debt Collector, rapidly triggering Jade's follow-up attacks. Lingsha provides crucial sustain, maintaining high HP for allies (vital since The Herta's HP is periodically drained as Debt Collector), and also contributes to stack generation with her AoE follow-up attacks. Aventurine is a strong alternative, though his bouncing attacks are less consistently AoE than Lingsha's. Huo Huo or Fu Xuan are also viable support options, offering buffs. Robin is the optimal buffer, buffing follow-up attacks and providing DMG buffs, crucial for turn-sensitive content. Sunday (Robin's brother) or Ruan Mei are solid alternatives.

This F2P team uses both Herta versions. While Herta's follow-up attack is conditional (enemy HP below 50%), their synergy for Interpretation stacks remains strong. Serval is a viable 4-star replacement. Remembrance Trailblazer excels, especially in Ice DPS situations, and Mem's True DMG and Crit DMG buffs are valuable. Pela is a solid alternative, offering debuffs and AoE attacks. Tingyun provides ATK and Energy buffs but lacks AoE, reducing her stack contribution. Gallagher provides flexible support with his AoE Ultimate.
