Playing cricket in a tight alley is often considered more fun than on a traditional field, especially in India. An indie Indian studio, 5th Ocean Studios, has released their latest cricket game, Gully Gangs: Street Cricket, in Open Beta on Android. This game brings the excitement of street cricket to your mobile device.
Not Your Usual Cricket Sim
Gully Gangs: Street Cricket is a unique 4v4 multiplayer game set in the narrow alleys of India, known as gullies. It's the first-ever 4v4 street cricket game, featuring rooftop catches, scooters as obstacles, and even nosy uncles yelling at players to stop breaking windows. Adding to the fun, the game also supports 1v1 mode.
In Gully Gangs: Street Cricket, players can execute powerful moves and communicate with their team through voice chat. You can talk, sledge, drop emojis during the match, and even pull off some sneaky tricks. The game's settings are authentic Indian neighborhoods, filled with live action around you, including playing with broken stumps, makeshift pitches, and unpredictable bounces off uneven walls.
The game offers extensive customization options. Players can build their gang, dress them in funky outfits, and unlock various skins, making each team unique and personal.
Gully Gangs: Street Cricket Is in Open Beta Now
5th Ocean Studios is planning a range of updates for Gully Gangs: Street Cricket, including new street maps, fresh outfits, regular events, clan wars, and an esports mode. Future updates will also feature leaderboards, daily and weekly challenges, and gang vs. gang matchups.
Currently available only on Android, the game is set to expand to iOS and Steam. Full controller support and cross-platform features are in development. If you're eager to try it out, you can download Gully Gangs: Street Cricket from the Google Play Store.
