Mounts are among the most cherished collectibles in Final Fantasy XIV, with some being far more elusive than others. One such rare gem is the Falcon mount—a stylish and iconic companion that’s only available during special events. If you're aiming to add this prized mount to your collection, here's a detailed guide on how to obtain it in FFXIV.

As of the latest Dawntrail expansion, Final Fantasy XIV offers hundreds of mounts for players to discover and enjoy across Eorzea and beyond. Among these, the Falcon mount stands out—not because of its popularity, but due to its rarity and unique acquisition method.
Originally introduced during the Fly the Falcon Mount campaign celebrating the launch of the Stormblood expansion in Summer 2017, this mount was awarded to players who maintained an active subscription for at least 90 days during the event period. Once the campaign ended, the Falcon mount was no longer obtainable through conventional means.
This left many newer players or those who joined after Stormblood without a way to acquire it—until now.

Good news: the Falcon mount has returned as part of the recurring Moogle Treasure Trove Phantasmagoria event. This seasonal event allows players to earn various exclusive items—including mounts—by completing specific in-game duties.
To participate:
- Complete qualifying duties (including GATEs at the Gold Saucer in Ul’dah).
- Access the Mogpendium, where you can track event progress and complete bonus challenges.
- Earn Tomestones of Phantasmagoria, the event-specific currency.
These Tomestones can then be exchanged with the Initerant Moogle NPC located in each of the three main cities—Ul’dah, Limsa Limsa, and Gridania.
The Falcon mount requires 50 Tomestones of Phantasmagoria to claim, making it one of the more accessible high-tier rewards in the event lineup.
Don’t wait too long though—the Moogle Treasure Trove Phantasmagoria event runs until the release of Patch 7.2 on March 25, so time is limited.
Once Patch 7.2 launches, the event will reset, and the Falcon mount may not return for quite some time—or at all—depending on future event rotations.
So if you've been holding off, now’s the perfect time to jump in and secure this legendary mount before it disappears again.
