Sony and Santa Monica Studio have announced the Dark Odyssey collection, an exciting update for God of War Ragnarök that will be available to players next week. This update introduces a range of in-game equipment inspired by one of the franchise's most iconic outfits, celebrating the series' 20th anniversary.
The details of the God of War 20th anniversary celebrations were shared in a comprehensive PlayStation.Blog post. The Dark Odyssey collection stands out as the highlight, offering a plethora of cosmetic enhancements for all God of War Ragnarök players on PlayStation 5 and PC. This free update is set to launch on March 20.
The Dark Odyssey collection boasts a sleek black-and-gold aesthetic, enhancing the visual appeal of Kratos and his companions as they navigate the realms of Norse mythology. Both Atreus and Freya are equipped with their own unique cosmetic sets, and players can also customize various shields and weapons with this theme.
The centerpiece of the update is the Dark Odyssey appearance and armor set for Kratos, reminiscent of a skin previously exclusive to those who completed God of War 2 on God Mode. Players can access this new content by opening any Lost Items chest in the base game or directly in the roguelike Valhalla mode of God of War Ragnarök after the update. Additionally, the update introduces the ability to customize Kratos' weapons' appearances without impacting their abilities.
