Fortnite's Latest Update: A Blast from the Past and Festive Cheer

Fortnite's newest update delivers a nostalgic treat for players, reintroducing beloved items like the Hunting Rifle and Launch Pad. This follows a recent hotfix for the OG mode, which also brings back the classic Cluster Clinger. The excitement continues with the return of Winterfest, complete with seasonal quests, the Icy Feet and Blizzard Grenade, and new skins featuring Mariah Carey and other holiday-themed characters.

December is proving to be a busy month for Fortnite, with a flurry of new skins alongside the annual Winterfest event. The event blankets the island in snow, adding festive quests and items like Icy Feet and the Blizzard Grenade. Winterfest rewards await players in the Cozy Cabin, along with premium skins such as Mariah Carey, Santa Dogg, and Santa Shaq. But the holiday fun doesn't stop there; Fortnite also boasts new collaborations with Cyberpunk 2077, Batman Ninja, and more. The OG mode also receives some love.

A recent, smaller hotfix for Fortnite delivers a big surprise for veteran players: the return of Launch Pads, a Chapter 1, Season 1 classic. These iconic traversal tools, predating other movement-enhancing items, allowed players to quickly reposition themselves, gaining a tactical advantage or escaping dangerous situations.

The Launch Pad isn't the only returning item. The success of Fortnite OG is undeniable. Epic Games reported 1.1 million players joining the mode within its first two hours. Alongside the mode's launch, an OG Item Shop opened, offering classic skins and items for purchase. However, the reintroduction of ultra-rare skins like the Renegade Raider and Aerial Assault Trooper has sparked mixed reactions among the player base.
