The popular Kinetic Blade, a returning favorite from Chapter 4 Season 2, is back in Fortnite Battle Royale for Chapter 6 Season 1, also known as Fortnite Hunters. This isn't the only katana in the game, however; players can choose between the Kinetic Blade and the newly introduced Typhoon Blade.
This guide will cover how to find the Kinetic Blade and how to use its unique abilities, helping you decide if it's the right melee weapon for your playstyle.
How to Find the Kinetic Blade in Fortnite
The Kinetic Blade appears in both Battle Royale Build and Zero Build modes. You'll find it as floor loot or inside standard and Rare chests.
Currently, the Kinetic Blade's drop rate seems relatively low. Furthermore, the absence of dedicated Kinetic Blade stands (unlike the Typhoon Blade) makes it even more challenging to locate.
How to Use the Kinetic Blade in Fortnite
The Kinetic Blade is a melee weapon that allows for swift movement and surprising attacks.
Unlike the Typhoon Blade, which requires sprinting for increased speed, the Kinetic Blade utilizes a Dash Attack. This lunge deals 60 damage on a direct hit. You can perform this dash attack up to three times consecutively before needing a recharge.
Alternatively, the Knockback Slash deals 35 damage and knocks opponents back. Be aware that this can lead to fall damage and even eliminations if they're knocked off a high point.
