The beloved RPG adventure management game, *The Tale of Food*, where players commanded an army of handsome, personified dishes, is set to shut down. Initially launched for a closed beta in China in September 2019 and later distributed by Tencent Games, the game has been a unique experience for fans of culinary-themed adventures.
When Is the The Tale of Food Shutdown?
Mark your calendars: *The Tale of Food* is officially shutting down on March 20th, 2025, at 10:00 AM (UTC+8). Starting from today, February 18th, 2025, in-game purchases have been disabled. New player registrations are also closed as of today, and the game has been removed from the Google Play Store. However, if you've already downloaded the game, you can continue playing until the servers close on the specified date.
What About the Jewels Collected in the Game?
If you purchased any jewels between January 9th and February 18th, 2025, you're eligible for a refund. You can request this through in-game support or by emailing the developers before March 20th. For more details on the terms and conditions of the shutdown, check out the official X page of *The Tale of Food*.
It's worth noting that the game's Japan server closed in April 2023, followed by the China server in June 2024. Now, the global version is following suit. As you bid farewell to your role as the Food God's kid, managing a realm filled with dumplings and suave seafood, remember that the official X (formerly Twitter), Facebook, and Discord communities will remain active. These platforms will serve as a space for players to reminisce and share their cherished memories of the game.
