One of the most delightful aspects of Final Fantasy XIV is its vast array of character emotes, allowing players to enhance their interactions with others in creative ways. Among these, the recently introduced "Photograph" emote stands out as a charming addition to the game. This guide will walk you through how to unlock and use this unique emote.
How to Unlock the Photograph Emote in Final Fantasy XIV
As part of a special collaboration with Fujifilm’s Instax, the "Photograph" emote made its debut in Patch 7.18, available to all players at no cost. Unlike other emotes that often require quests or purchases, this one is automatically added to your Emote menu upon logging into the game after updating to the latest patch. No level requirements or expansion purchases are necessary—just ensure you have the latest version installed.
Using the Photograph Emote
To activate the "Photograph" emote, navigate to your Emote menu under the "Social" tab. Scroll down to find it listed under the "General" section. Once selected, your character will pull out a Fujifilm-inspired camera to snap a Polaroid-style photo. For frequent use, consider adding it to your Favorites.
This emote is versatile and can be used in various scenarios, from capturing moments underwater in locations like the Ruby Sea to snapping pictures while riding a mount, whether grounded or airborne. While not designed for AFK activities, it offers dynamic possibilities for creative poses and memorable scenes.
