Final Fantasy 14 Offers Returning Players Tons of Free Playtime

Summary

  • Final Fantasy XIV's Free Login Campaign is back! Running until February 6th, eligible players with inactive accounts can enjoy four consecutive days of free gameplay.
  • The four-day timer begins the moment eligible players log into the game launcher. Check your eligibility on the Mog Station.

Kickstarting 2025, Final Fantasy XIV offers a Free Login Campaign, allowing players with inactive accounts to return to Eorzea for four days at no cost. Available on PC, PlayStation, and Xbox, this campaign runs until February 6th.

Following the release of Patch 7.15, which included new side quests in the Dawntrail expansion (like the return of the Hildibrand series and a new Custom Delivery client), this campaign provides a perfect opportunity for lapsed players to rejoin the fun. Producer and director Naoki Yoshida's New Year's message hinted at the upcoming release of Patches 7.2 and 7.3 in 2025, along with smaller updates, and offered a cryptic clue about Dawntrail's storyline.

While the game is between major content updates, this Free Login Campaign welcomes back players who've taken a break. Starting January 9th at 3:00 AM Eastern and ending February 6th at 9:59 AM Eastern, the campaign offers up to four consecutive days of free playtime. The 96-hour timer starts upon login via the game launcher. Eligibility requires a purchased and registered Final Fantasy XIV account that has been inactive for at least 30 days prior to the campaign. Accounts suspended or canceled for violating terms of service are ineligible.

Final Fantasy XIV Launches Free Login Campaign (January to February 2025)

Square Enix encourages players to verify their account details and eligibility on the Mog Station. While the campaign runs, players can also participate in the Heavensturn event (until January 16th) for a reward minion, and look forward to Patch 7.16 on January 21st, concluding the Dawntrail Role Quest side series.

Although Patch 7.2 is still some weeks away, returning players can use this free period to catch up on Dawntrail's story. The future of Dawntrail in 2025 remains a mystery, eagerly awaited by players.
