Remedy Entertainment has officially set the release date for their eagerly awaited game, FBC: Firebreak, on June 17, 2025. This new title invites players into a session-based, multiplayer PvE experience within the expansive Control universe. FBC: Firebreak promises dynamic gameplay through its Jobs—replayable missions featuring varied challenges, objectives, and environments that demand teamwork and adaptability from players.
Scheduled for launch on PC via Steam and Epic Games Store, as well as Xbox Series X|S and PlayStation 5, FBC: Firebreak will be priced at $39.99 / €39.99 / £32.99. Gamers can also enjoy it from day one on PC Game Pass, Game Pass Ultimate, and as part of the PlayStation Plus Game Catalog (Extra and Premium). Notably, this marks Remedy’s first venture into self-publishing.
Alongside the standard edition, Remedy introduced the FBC: Firebreak Deluxe Edition at $49.99 / €49.99 / £39.99. This premium version includes exclusive cosmetics and voice packs, with an upgrade option available for base game owners at $10 / €10 / £7. The Deluxe Edition boasts an array of exclusive items:
- “The Firestarter” Premium Voice Pack
- “The Pencil Pusher” Premium Voice Pack
- Firestarter Armor Set, Apex Revision (Helmet, Body Armor, Gloves)
- Scorched Remnant Double-Barrel Shotgun Skin
- Golden Firebreak Spray
- Classified Requisition: “Firestarter”: A collection of 36 unlockable cosmetic items including weapon skins, sprays, and armor sets
According to Remedy, FBC: Firebreak will introduce a new feature called Requisitions, a system designed to reward players with new gear and cosmetics simply by engaging with the game. These Requisitions can encompass weapons, equipment, armor, sprays, and more, all unlockable using in-game currency earned through regular gameplay. Importantly, there are no limited-time windows or rotating stores; all added items remain perpetually available. For those looking for additional customization, Classified Requisitions offer premium cosmetic items, purchasable with real money, ensuring they have no impact on gameplay and are always accessible.
Remedy has also committed to ongoing support post-launch, with plans to introduce two new Jobs in 2025 and more updates in 2026. All post-launch playable content, including these Jobs, will be free to all players. While cosmetics can be purchased, they won't affect gameplay, and there will be no limited-time rotations or daily log-ins, as emphasized by Remedy.
Amidst a bustling development schedule, Remedy continues to work on other exciting projects such as Control 2 and the Max Payne and Max Payne 2 remake compilation, keeping fans eagerly anticipating what's next from the acclaimed developer.
