Escape Academy, a highly-rated escape-room style puzzle game, is the Epic Games Store's free game offering from January 16th to 23rd, 2025. This marks the fourth free game offered by the EGS in 2025 and, based on its OpenCritic score of 80 (88% recommendation rate), is currently the highest-rated free game offered so far this year.
Developed by Coin Crew Games and initially released in July 2022, Escape Academy challenges players to train as "escape room masters" within the game's academy setting. The game boasts a "Very Positive" Steam rating and strong scores on PlayStation and Xbox stores. Beyond its solo gameplay, Escape Academy features a well-received online and split-screen multiplayer mode, making it a standout co-op puzzle experience.
Interestingly, Escape Academy was previously offered as a free EGS title on January 1st, 2024, but this giveaway provides a full week of access, conveniently timed for those losing access to the game on Xbox Game Pass on January 15th.
