Nightreign Reveals 6th Class, Ironeye
A Deadly Ranged Sniper
Elden Ring: Nightreign has unveiled the Ironeye, a new sniper class that promises to revolutionize ranged combat with its focus on swiftness and dexterity. The character trailer, which you can watch above, demonstrates the Ironeye's prowess with a massive bow and arrow setup. This class isn't just about shooting from afar; it can also run up walls to execute stunning mid-air attacks. The Ironeye uses a new aiming system designed to make headshots more achievable and even showcases a unique riposte move using a bow and arrow directly to the heart of enemies.
During the Nightreign closed network test in February, players got a chance to experience four of the eight playable classes: the versatile Wylder, the robust Guardian, the agile Duchess, and the spell-casting Recluse. The Ironeye marks the sixth class, and with Nightreign's release on the horizon, fans are eagerly anticipating the reveal of the final two classes later this month.
The quality-of-life improvements, including the new aiming system, have sparked hope among fans that similar enhancements might find their way into the original Elden Ring. Such updates could significantly boost the appeal of using bows as primary weapons, which have traditionally been less popular than melee options in the original game. The Ironeye's introduction suggests that ranged builds might see a resurgence in popularity.
Elden Ring: Nightreign, a standalone adventure set in the Elden Ring universe, is scheduled for release on May 30th, 2025. It will be available on PC, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X|S for $39.99. For more details about the game, be sure to visit Game8’s comprehensive article.
