Eastside Games has made a name for itself by delivering delightfully quirky titles to mobile gamers. Think of games like Cheech & Chong, Trailer Park Boys, and RuPaul's various adventures, or popular adaptations such as Doctor Who: Lost in Time, The Office: Somehow We Manage, and The Goldbergs: Back to the 80s. The developer’s latest addition? Squishmallows Match.
Remember Squishmallows?
Eastside is collaborating with Jazwares and Zaibatsu Interactive to release the first-ever mobile game built around the massively popular plush toy collection. Originally launched in 2017 by Kelly Toys and Jazwares, Squishmallows are known for their round, fluffy form and come in a vast array of colors, sizes, and themed designs—from adorable animals to food-inspired characters.
This upcoming title is a match-3 puzzle adventure set for a global launch on September 2nd, 2025. Players can collect charming characters, assemble squads featuring rare and limited-edition Squishmallows, and even personalize their in-game feed to showcase their collections and creative designs.
Customization options are plentiful. You’ll have access to themed backgrounds, stickers, and of course, the Squishmallows themselves. The game even features claw machines where you can try your luck at snagging elusive plush characters.
A special Squishmallows Reward Road lets you earn points and unlock Keys. You can also use power-ups like Magnets to boost your odds of finding special Squishmallows during gameplay.
Squishmallows Match will regularly update with seasonal content via passes that introduce exclusive, time-limited characters. Additional features include wishlist tracking, community contests, daily rewards, and special boosters. Get a first look at the game in the trailer below.
Squishmallows Match is now open for pre-registration
Signing up now secures exclusive in-game rewards. You'll also get a chance to collect a brand-new, never-before-released Squishmallows—both as a digital character and a physical plush toy—before anyone else.
Among recent stuffed toy lines, Squishmallows have a special place in my heart. I find them far more endearing than other trendy dolls, like the monster-inspired Labubu craze. If you're also on Team Squishmallows, head over to the Google Play Store to check out the game.
