Dredge's mobile release delayed until February 2025, but a new closed beta is now open!
Fans of Black Salt Games' Lovecraftian fishing horror, Dredge, will need to wait a little longer for the mobile version. The release has been pushed back to February 2025. However, to soften the blow, Black Salt has opened sign-ups for a new closed beta test.
For the uninitiated, Dredge casts players as a fisherman in the unsettling town of Greater Marrow. Initially, the job is straightforward – catching and selling fish. But the tranquil fishing soon gives way to unsettling encounters with bizarre sea creatures, mysterious entities, and a creeping sense of dread fueled by strange occurrences on a nearby island. The game's Lovecraftian themes and escalating horror create a unique and compelling experience.
You can register for the closed mobile beta via this Google Form. Despite the delay, the numerous awards and critical acclaim Dredge has already received suggest the wait will be worthwhile for those who haven't yet experienced this captivating blend of horror and fishing.
A Challenging Port
Having played the PC version, the delay is understandable. Adapting such a rich and detailed world to mobile is a significant undertaking. But, judging by the original release, the mobile version promises a wealth of content. The additional closed beta is a smart move, allowing for valuable player feedback before the official launch.
