The wait is almost over! BioWare will announce the release date for *Dragon Age: The Veilguard* today, August 15th, with a special trailer premiering at 9:00 A.M. PDT (12:00 P.M. EDT)."We're thrilled to share this with our fans," BioWare announced on Twitter (X). A roadmap of upcoming reveals will keep the excitement going until launch. "Expect high-level warrior combat gameplay, Companions Week, and more in the coming weeks," the developers shared. Here's the schedule:

A Decade in the Making
The development of Dragon Age: The Veilguard has been a long and complex process, facing numerous delays spanning almost a decade. Development began in 2015 after Dragon Age: Inquisition, but shifted focus to Mass Effect: Andromeda and Anthem, impacting resources and timeline. The initial design, codenamed "Joplin," didn't align with the company's live-service strategy, leading to a complete halt.
The Veilguard was revived in 2018 under the codename "Morrison." Formally announced as Dragon Age: Dreadwolf in 2022, the game finally received its current title.
