This guide details how to get the Lady Vengeance sailing in Divinity: Original Sin 2 after escaping Fort Joy. The process involves a series of puzzles and interactions.
Quick Links
After removing your Source collar, your goal is to get the ship moving. This isn't done through conventional means; you must uncover a unique method. Explore the ship, talk to NPCs, and gather clues. The key is accessing Magister Dallis' cabin and the Ancient Songbook within.
Investigate Dead Bodies
Search the bodies of the deceased magisters and gheists on deck. A Sodden Diary on one corpse contains a password for a stateroom door. You can also obtain the password via a skill check with the northern stateroom door. Additionally, find a Strange Gem; it's needed to interact with the Portside Stateroom door. A magic mirror nearby allows for unlimited respeccing if needed for skill checks.
Find the Portside Stateroom
Using the password from the diary (or skill check), access the ship's quarters. Examine Bishop Alexander (west of the cabins) to find a Strange Gem in his regalia. Use this gem and the password on the southern stateroom door to enter Magister Dallis' cabin. This cabin also contains a hidden hatch with gheists and a Teleportation Prism.
Find the Songbook
Inside Dallis' cabin, speak with Tarquin and Dallis. Locate the Ancient Empire Songbook on a pedestal. Reading it reveals the song needed to move the ship. It's advisable to speak to all NPCs before proceeding, as interaction will be limited once the ship sails.
Set Sail
Return to the deck and inform Malady about the songbook. She'll ask you to sing to the ship. Find the dragon figurine (west of the deck) and use it to sing the song. The Lady Vengeance will begin to sail. Be prepared for an immediate ambush by powerful magisters after setting sail. Ensure your party is adequately prepared for a challenging battle.
