Hideo Kojima recently presented actress Shiori Kutsuna with flowers, acknowledging her significant contributions to the game. Kojima's message praised Kutsuna's dedication, highlighting her work on motion capture in Los Angeles, 3D scanning, and voice acting (both Japanese and English) across multiple locations, even amidst pandemic-related challenges.
Kutsuna's involvement reportedly began in the fall of 2022. At Tokyo Game Show 2024, Kojima showcased several two-minute cutscenes from Death Stranding 2: On the Beach, introducing key allies to the protagonist.
These allies include: George Miller as Tarman, captain of the Magellan mobile base; Fatih Akin as Dollman, a former medium now a living doll; and the returning Léa Seydoux as Fragile. Elle Fanning portrays Tomorrow, a mysterious character discovered in a location resembling the afterlife. Interestingly, the original Death Stranding tagline was "Tomorrow is in your hands."
One cutscene features the characters singing Burt Bacharach and Hal David's "Raindrops Keep Fallin' on My Head" while interacting with a pregnant woman named Rainy, played by Shiori Kutsuna.
