In one of gaming's most unexpected crossovers, football legend Cristiano Ronaldo will become a playable character in Fatal Fury: City of the Wolves. The Portuguese superstar joins the fighting game's launch roster in this surprising collaboration.
From Football Pitch to Fighting Arena
Developers at SNK Corporation have transformed five-time Ballon d'Or winner Ronaldo into a comic-style warrior for their upcoming fighting game. The trailer reveals signature football moves adapted for combat, including his "Headed Clearance" command move and slide tackles. True to form, Ronaldo's iconic 'Siuuu' celebration makes an appearance, though voice actor Juan Felipe Sierra provides the character's dialogue.
Here's SNK's official character description:
One of football's greatest players takes his skills to South Town during his off-season. His football-inspired techniques make him a formidable opponent against even veteran fighters.
The Saudi Connection
The 40-year-old athlete currently plays for Al Nassr FC in Saudi Arabia's Pro League, where the club is majority-owned by the Saudi Public Investment Fund (PIF). Interestingly, PIF chair Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman's foundation now holds majority ownership of SNK as well.
Fatal Fury: City of the Wolves arrives on April 24, 2025, featuring:
- A vibrant comic-style presentation
- New characters alongside series veterans
- Modernized combat mechanics
