How To Find and Craft Essence Stones in Fields of Mistria

Essence Stones are a new addition to *Fields of Mistria*, introduced in the March 2025 update. These stones are crucial for several new features, making them essential for daily farm management. This guide explains how to find, craft, and utilize Essence Stones of varying sizes.

Where to Find Essence Stones in Fields of Mistria

Since the March 2025 update, Essence Stones can be discovered within chests located throughout the mines in *Fields of Mistria*. While initially found while searching for offering items (Floor 60, Fire Seal), chests containing these stones appear on various levels across existing biomes and floors. Beware of mimic enemies disguised as chests—interaction will result in damage.

Essence Stones come in four sizes: tiny, small, medium, and large. Smaller stones are more common, but larger ones can be found with diligent searching. If hunting for them proves challenging, crafting them at the Stone Refinery is a viable alternative.

How to Craft Essence Stones in Fields of Mistria

The Stone Refinery, a new location unlocked via a story quest introduced in the March 2025 update, allows Essence Stone crafting. Building the refinery requires:

• 200 Wood
• 400 Stone
• 5,000 Tesserae

Once built, you can craft Essence Stones using Stone and Essence. The required amounts vary depending on the stone's size:

**Tiny Essence Stone**	x5 Stone x5 Essence
**Small Essence Stone**	x10 Stone x25 Essence
**Medium Essence Stone**	x20 Stone x50 Essence
**Large Essence Stone**	x40 Stone x100 Essence

Beyond Essence Stones, the Stone Refinery produces various common materials, Refined Stone, and rare items like Obsidian and Diamond, establishing it as a valuable crafting hub.

How to Use Essence Stones in Fields of Mistria

The March 2025 update introduced the auto-petter and sprinkler mechanics, both powered by Essence Stones. Larger stones provide longer durations.

The auto-petter, linked to the Animal Sprite Statue (placed in Large Barns and Coops), automatically pets animals daily while an Essence Stone is active. This rare statue is found in a concealed cave near Errol’s house (requires Dragon’s Breath). Additional statues can be crafted once unlocked.

The sprinkler mechanic, using the Water Sprite Statue, automatically waters crops within a 2-tile radius. The statue, and its crafting scroll, are located on a small island east of the beach (beyond the Lighthouse, requires Dragon’s Breath). Additional statues can also be crafted.

Future updates from NPC Studio will likely expand the uses of Essence Stones in Fields of Mistria.
