The strategic tower defense game, Code Geass: Lost Stories, is ending its global run. While the Japanese version will continue, the international servers are closing on August 29th, 2024. Developed by f4samurai and DMM Games, and published by Komoe, the game launched globally in September 2023, falling short of its first anniversary.
Closure Date:
The game will be unavailable after August 29th, 2024. Account access and in-app purchases are already disabled, and official social media channels will also cease operations on that date.
Reasons for Shutdown:
While no official reason has been given, the game's low download numbers and generally unfavorable global reviews likely contributed to the decision. Many licensed anime gacha games struggle to maintain a substantial player base outside of Japan due to lower spending habits. The game's combination of RPG, action, and tower defense elements, while based on a popular anime franchise, didn't translate into widespread global success.
Japanese Players:
The game remains accessible to players in Japan via the Google Play Store.
