The journey from script to screen for Daredevil: Born Again was anything but straightforward, filled with numerous revisions and reshapes. However, amidst all the changes, one episode managed to remain untouched—a fact that might surprise many, especially considering it happens to be the least favorite of star Charlie Cox.
"I don’t know if this is of interest, but I will say this: there was one episode we didn’t alter at all," Cox shared during a recent interview with The Playlist.
"That’s the bank episode, and it was part of the original shoot. We filmed it before the strike. It was part of the original draft, and personally, I wasn’t a fan."
Cox confessed to the publication that he "did push back against it as much as I felt was possible." The episode in question sees Cox's character, Matt Murdock (a.k.a. Daredevil), entangled in the chaos of a bank heist while trying to secure a loan for his law firm, co-owned with Foggy Nelson (Elden Henson) and Karen Page (Deborah Ann Woll)."That feels like a 1970s plot," Cox remarked to the outlet. "With today’s technology, that wouldn’t fly. Plus, I didn’t think the method used for the theft was advanced enough."

"I really pushed back on the episode, yet I keep hearing from so many people who adore it. It just shows you never know. Taste is so subjective," Cox noted. "Everyone has different preferences. And I’ve been told this episode is one of the most highly rated. Internally, when they calculate their ratings, it ranks among Disney’s top-rated shows."
As it turns out, we concurred. In our Daredevil: Born Again Episodes 5 and 6 Review, we praised: "It’s simply brilliant. I can’t recall the last time a Marvel series had me smiling ear-to-ear throughout the episode and completely absorbed from beginning to end. This episode also does something crucial given the scarcity of Daredevil thus far—it highlights what makes Matt Murdock such a distinctive and exceptional hero, even without the mask."
