Treyarch is developing a much-requested feature for Call of Duty: Black Ops 6: in-game challenge tracking. This feature, present in 2023's Modern Warfare 3, was notably absent from Black Ops 6 at launch, much to the disappointment of players.
While a release date remains unannounced, the upcoming Season 2 update later this month hints at a potential imminent arrival. This is welcome news, especially for players pursuing Mastery camos. The anticipated functionality mirrors that of Modern Warfare 3, allowing players to monitor progress towards challenge completion in real-time via the in-game UI.
Recent Developments and Future Plans
A January 9th update addressed various bug fixes across Multiplayer and Zombies modes, including improvements to UI and audio, and an XP boost for the Red Light, Green Light mode. Significantly, Treyarch reversed a controversial Zombies change from January 3rd, removing extended round times and delays in Directed Mode following community feedback.
Beyond the patch notes, Treyarch confirmed via Twitter that separate HUD settings for Multiplayer and Zombies are also under development, addressing another player concern. This will eliminate the need for constant HUD adjustments when switching between game modes.
