Pellen's cryptic January 15 tweet—"something big is coming. keep your eyes closed tomorrow"—appeared to reference Nintendo's January 16 Switch 2 reveal. While fans immediately questioned Silksong's involvement, it was Pellen's subsequent cake-themed profile picture that really set the community abuzz.
Following the Switch 2 announcement that promised a Direct presentation on April 2, 2025, sharp-eyed fans discovered Pellen's cake image matched a Brooklyn Blackout Cake recipe published by Bon Appétit—specifically on April 2, 2024.
The intrigue deepened when users found a comment reading "mmmm tasty" on the recipe article, though it couldn't be confirmed as Pellen's. Fans immediately drew connections, with one pledging to bake the cake if Silksong news arrived by April 2, 2025. Another humorously reviewed the recipe's "silky texture," cleverly linking it to both the game and Nintendo's upcoming Direct.
While Pellen's profile change undeniably hints at something, whether that "something" relates to Silksong remains pure speculation at this point.
Hollow Knight: Silksong's Five-Year Journey
