Armor is a critical component of Operator survival in Call of Duty Zombies. Players seeking an armor upgrade beyond Tier 3 can obtain the Gold Armor Vest via a new Easter egg in Black Ops 6's The Tomb map. This guide details how to acquire it.
What Does Gold Armor Do in Black Ops 6 Zombies?
First introduced in Modern Warfare 3 Zombies, Gold Armor addresses the frustration of constant armor re-plating. It automatically repairs itself over time, even without armor plates in your inventory. This significantly aids resource management and ensures you're always protected from one-hit downs by powerful enemies like Amalgams, while still allowing manual plating.

How To Get Gold Armor on The Tomb in Black Ops 6 Zombies
Here's the step-by-step process:
- Acquire 2 Statue Heads: Locate these within the Dark Aether Nexus, hidden inside destructible wooden boxes.
- Repair the Statues: Place the statue heads on the ruined statues in the Dig Site area.
- Complete Blood Sacrifices: Survive two challenging Blood Sacrifice encounters.
- Purchase the Vest: The Gold Armor Vest will become available for purchase at the Roman Mausoleum.
Where To Find the Statue Heads in The Tomb

The statue heads are found within the Dark Aether Nexus, inside destructible wooden boxes. One is near a palm tree in a corner of the Nexus (closest to the green Gateway portal), and the other is near the Juggernog Perk Machine. Destroy the boxes with melee attacks to reveal the heads.
Using the Statue Heads
Once obtained, return to the Dig Site. Place each head on a ruined Roman statue—one near the Ammo Cache, the other near the Roman Mausoleum (Pack-a-Punch area). After placing both heads, a new UI prompt will initiate the Blood Sacrifice challenge.
Surviving the Blood Sacrifice

The Blood Sacrifice spawns high-value target (HVT) versions of Shock Mimics and Doppelghasts (at least three in solo, more in co-op). You'll be locked at 1 HP, but damage goes to your armor. Use a Tier 3 vest and plenty of plates. Existing enemies remain, so starting this at the end of a round is recommended.
Solo players can exploit this by using a Mutant Injection to become a Mangler, gaining invulnerability. In co-op, one player activates the sacrifice while another uses a Chopper Gunner to eliminate the HVTs from a distance.
After completing both Blood Sacrifices, the Gold Armor Vest will be available for purchase at the Roman Mausoleum.
Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 is available now on PlayStation, Xbox, and PC.
