If you're an avid Pokémon GO player, you're in for a treat with a series of exciting events on the horizon. The game is currently buzzing with the Festival of Colors and the Might and Mastery events, and the Catch Mastery event is a special highlight within the latter.
Catch Mastery Brings the First Birdie for Pokémon GO!
Mark your calendars for March 16th, as the Catch Mastery event kicks off from 10:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. local time. This event shines the spotlight on Archen, the First Bird Pokémon. During the event, you'll see increased spawns of Omanyte and Kabuto, and there's a chance to encounter their Shiny forms.
Archen isn't just appearing in the wild; it's also up for grabs as a Field Research reward, with a boosted chance of encountering its Shiny variant. To sweeten the deal, you can double your XP by achieving Nice Throws or better, and the same goes for Curveball Throws.
For those looking to dive deeper, there's Timed Research centered around catching Rock-type Pokémon. If you're up for the challenge, you can tackle up to 10 sets of tasks, leading to a whopping 40 encounters with Archen.
The Mega Absol Raid Day Is Also Happening Soon
Get ready for the Mega Absol Raid Day on March 23rd, running from 2:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. local time. Absol is set to learn a new Charged Attack called Brutal Swing. Once the event begins, this move will be permanently available to Absol, boasting 55 power in Trainer Battles and 65 power in gyms and raids.
Leading up to the event, from March 22nd at 5:00 p.m. PDT to March 23rd at 8:00 p.m. PDT, the Remote Raid Pass limit will be temporarily bumped up to 20. Additionally, you'll have the chance to earn up to five extra free Raid Passes by spinning Gym Photo Discs, giving you a total of six for the day.
If you're yet to join the fun, you can download Pokémon GO from the Google Play Store.
