In a recent post on X (formerly Twitter), the official Bethesda account confirmed a major announcement set for 8:00 AM PT / 11:00 AM ET, streaming live on both YouTube and Twitch. While the tweet didn’t explicitly name the project, the visual clue left little to the imagination: a bold "IV" at the center of the promotional image, set against what appears to be an iconic scene straight from Oblivion’s original artwork.
Rumors of an Oblivion remake have circulated for years, but recent developments suggest this is more than just fan speculation. The first real hint came in 2023 during the FTC vs. Microsoft trial, where a leaked Bethesda internal document revealed plans for an Oblivion remaster in fiscal year 2022. At the time, many dismissed it as a potential cancellation due to the timeline discrepancy.
However, new life was breathed into the rumor mill earlier this year when fresh reports emerged indicating that the project had evolved from a simple remaster into a full-fledged remake, with development support from Virtuos alongside Bethesda itself.
Just last week, those claims gained even more credibility when additional leaks—this time seemingly sourced from Virtuos’ own website—surfaced online, including in-game footage and visuals showcasing a modernized take on the classic RPG world.
If these details hold true, The Elder Scrolls: Oblivion Remastered will launch across PC, Xbox, and PlayStation platforms. A Deluxe Edition is also reportedly in the works, featuring exclusive content such as the iconic horse armor—originally sold as downloadable content during the game’s initial release.
Tomorrow's broadcast could bring confirmation of these details—and potentially much more. Fans around the world are eagerly waiting for what could be one of the most anticipated RPG remakes of the decade.
