Beloved Bethesda voice actor Wes Johnson, known for his roles in Skyrim, Fallout 3, Starfield, and numerous other titles, was discovered critically ill in his hotel room last week. His family is now seeking public support to cover mounting medical expenses and living costs during his recovery.
As reported by PC Gamer, Johnson's wife Kim and family launched a GoFundMe campaign to solicit donations. The campaign states that Johnson remains in intensive care, fighting for his life. The urgent need for funds arose after Johnson failed to appear at a benefit event for the National Alzheimer’s Foundation in Atlanta on January 22nd. His wife, unable to reach him, contacted hotel security, who found him unconscious and near death.
The initial GoFundMe goal of $50,000 has been significantly surpassed, with over $144,791 raised from nearly 2,200 contributors. Beyond his extensive video game career, Johnson is also a long-time public address announcer for the Washington Capitals and has acted in various film and television projects.
His extensive voice acting credits with Bethesda include memorable roles such as Ron Hope in Starfield, Sheogorath and Lucien Lachance in Oblivion, three Daedric Princes in Morrowind, Fawkes and Maister Burke in Fallout 3, Hermaeus Mora and Emperor Titus Mede II in Skyrim, and Moe Cronin in Fallout 4, among many others.
