Careful, Sims fans—the infamous Burglar is making a stealthy return.
A nostalgic yet exciting addition for longtime players, Robin Banks—better known as The Burglar—is sneaking her way back into The Sims 4 with the latest game update. Familiar to fans of earlier Sims titles, this cunning character is now active across PC and console platforms, bringing a fresh wave of mischief and excitement to your Sims' lives.
Robin typically strikes under the cover of darkness, breaking into homes when most Sims are fast asleep. However, she’s been known to attempt bold daytime heists too, so it pays to stay on high alert. Valuables should be hidden carefully, or you might just wake up to an empty inventory and a broken heart.
To protect their homes, Sims can install a burglar alarm. If Robin triggers it, law enforcement will arrive promptly to apprehend her and recover stolen items. Even without an alarm, players can still call the police—but speed is essential. Alternatively, Sims have the option to take matters into their own hands with some good old-fashioned vigilante justice. The choice is yours.
The Burglar finally returns to The Sims 4, more than a decade after its original launch.

By design, burglary events occur infrequently, but for those who thrive on mayhem, activating the Lot Challenge: Heist Havoc will significantly increase the chances of encountering Robin.
“We’re absolutely thrilled to welcome the Burglar back into The Sims universe,” the development team shared. “Massive thanks to everyone involved in bringing this to life. Robin Banks isn’t just here to steal your Sims’ valuables—she’s here to capture your hearts too! What better way to celebrate The Sims 25th Anniversary than with this beloved throwback? We hope you're as excited as we are to see what kind of chaos she brings to your households.”
Though The Sims 4 celebrated its 10th birthday last year, the game remains incredibly popular. In fact, EA’s Q2 earnings report revealed that the title had attracted over 15 million new players in the previous year alone.
Originally taking four years to reach 20 million unique players, the game saw explosive growth after going free-to-play in 2022, gaining 31 million new players almost immediately. As of May 2024, total player count reached an impressive 85 million.
And for those eagerly anticipating what's next? There’s still [ttpp]—no official plans for The Sims 5 just yet… Plum indeed.
