Atuel transports players to the stunning Atuel River Valley in Argentina, a region that, despite its beauty, faces the challenges of climate change. In this game, you don't just observe; you become an integral part of the ecosystem. You shapeshift into various animals and elements, experiencing the valley from unique perspectives. One moment, you might be soaring through the sky as a bird, and the next, you're flowing as the river itself.
The game integrates real-life interviews with historians, biologists, geologists, and locals, offering insights into the region's history, its current state, and the looming impact of climate change. Matajuegos partnered with the international documentary team, The 12.01 Project, to weave these compelling stories into the gameplay. The visuals, inspired by the Cuyo desert, create an almost otherworldly atmosphere that sets Atuel apart.
